Herry

George Michael fan since:
Well, since forever really. No, I liked the Fantastic singles, but I became obsessed at the Wake me up
period. I had just bought my first house, was working in it and I didn't watch any t.v. at that time, so I
didn't pay any attention to the way they looked. Then my sister in law said wow, don't you think that
blond guy is gorgeous? Erh, which guy?...
She was right!! :)
I became addicted at once and quickly joined the Dutch Wham! fanclub. The more I got to know about
Wham! the more I liked them. The music, but also the image. I started writing bits for the fanclub
magazine and since I always tend to stick my nose into things, I became part of the management. There
was no internet back then, we had a two monthly magazine, we organized fanclub meetings etc. There
were three of us and when one left there was just the two of us. A lot of work and a lot of fun. (Wasn't it,
Bart?) In the end the original founder, Bart, did all the memberships, the lay-out of the magazine, all the,
well, everything really. I gathered information, kept in touch with the Wham! management and wrote the
magazine. After Wham! split up, we went on as the George Michael and Wham! fanclub. (a name Andrew
didn't really appreciate when he released his solo album :) )
Eventually we both decided that it had been fun, but it was to much work and we finished in Januari 91.
Shortly after that there were some real terrible family matters that took up all my attention and I didn't
follow George for a while. Which wasn't hard, cause not much happened anyway, publicly that is..When
he performed Jesus to a child at the MTV awards in Berlin I was back. When I heard Older, I cried a lot.
And when I went through a magazine at a shop while waiting for my turn I read that his mother had
passed away... I cried right there. I can so relate to many of his lyrics.

...despite:
The fact that throughout all the years we did the fanclub, were in touch with his management/personal
assistant, we never got a chance to meet him personally. :(

Life besides George / other interests:
What life? :) As I said, with the fanclub way back when, that took up all my time. Through the years I
spent many free hours on George. But apart from him, I really love singing. Reading, organizing things,
writing...eh where have I seen all that before..LOL, I read the things Bianca and Jeannette said and it
seemed we are all the same. :) I also talk a lot, guess what happens when Jeannette and I are in the
same room ;). I'm part of a very close family, that's timeconsuming. I have so many interests that it
clashes with everyday duties. Psychology, people, London, Internet, need I go on?

George Michael/ Wham! concerts attended:
The Final. Wham! never toured Holland and this was our last chance.
Faith tour, 4 times, Rotterdam, Ahoy.
Tribute for Linda, Royal Albert Hall, London.
Coming: Net Aid.
I had a ticket for a stadium concert in Rotterdam during the Faith tour, but then George had his throat
surgery and had to cancel.
I had a ticket for the Cover to Cover tour, then I fell ill and couldn't go. I am still not over that...:(

Songs I prefer George to sing live in MY bathroom:
OK, I know noone believes me...:) I don't want him in my bathroom! Well, I wouldn't kick him out..:))
But I would rather have him on my (or his) couch to have a long talk and then maybe I'll let him sing.
I'd prefer to get to know him a little bit. To find out what he is really like. But OK if he has to
sing...uh...A moment with you...LOL

Favorite George Michael statement:
"I really can spell! I just can't f*cking type!!!!" :) (msn online chat)
and
"At the end of the day, honesty is the best policy" (dutch TV show interview)

These are Bianca's, but I agree totally, I also agree with the one Jeannette came up with. Trouble is that
there are so many things he says that I like/agree. Mmmm, guess I have to come up with something
myself.... One of the funnier ones that come to mind is: About sex...."the earth never moved for me",
maybe he did something wrong ...LOL.
Also about sex. "In bed? Never in bed, on the fridge, IN the fridge".

Most yummie look/image:
All. It changes through the years. Mostly, I like it at the time, but not always looking back.

Most horrible look/image:

Older.

Best George Michael cd/lp:
His latest usually...:). But overall, since a Greatest Hits is not allowed (Bianca!!) it would definately be
Older.

Other music interests:
I grew up with Queen, still love them. Soul. Oh, a lot. There is so much I like.

Favorite lyric line:
Can't keep holding it in, when it's something good.

Feels good, to be free.

She'll come to you in disguise
She's there in your children's eyes,
Still our mother...
She's still your wife.
......every grown man cries with his mothers eyes.

So many of the lyrics mean a lot to me, because of things that have happened to me over the years.

Favorite cover sung by George:
Oh boy, eeeh. Just one this time? I guess it will be Somebody to love, or Tonight, or I believe, or
eeeh.. No, i'll go for I can't make you love me.
Today, :)
